This article assumes that the reader already has a good understanding of the Aliasing feature. The aliasing feature was developed to help chat agents conceal their identities by using a pseudonym instead. The mobile app is compatible with aliasing which means that if the aliasing is turned on the visitor will not see the operator's real name and image that was configured from the portal or mobile app profile section.

When setting up the mobile app access the aliasing feature is optional. The user may not want to use their real identity so we could either encourage the user to set up a fake name and image themselves from the mobile app profile section. This takes away the responsibility from Apexchat and the user now becomes responsible for their Aliasing. However, if there's a strong enough reason to turn on the aliasing feature, it can be done and the mobile app supports it.
